LAHORE: Mohammad Nabi’s three-wicket haul and James Vince’s classy knock powered Karachi Kings to an 87-run victory over Multan Sultans in the 20th fixture of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 here at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing a 205-run target, Multan Sultans were bowled out for a mere 117 in 16.1 overs.

The defeat marked the end of the road for the Sultans in this PSL, after they managed only one win in eight games.

Chasing a big total, Multan Sultans started poorly, losing their in-form batter Mohammad Rizwan for a golden duck in the second over.

Wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan was dismissed by Mir Hamza in the next over, leaving Multan Sultans in a challenging position at 20 for two after three overs.

Kamran Ghulam came in to bat alongside Yasir Khan, but Yasir was quickly out after scoring 26 runs off 17 balls, thanks to Aamer Jamal.

Curtis Campher added 12 runs before being dismissed by Mohammad Nabi. Ghulam ended up being the top scorer for the losing team, hitting 29 runs off 25 balls.

Iftikhar Ahmed managed to score eight runs, while Michael Bracewell fell for just two runs after being bowled by Nabi. Ubaid Shah was the final batter dismissed, contributing 14 runs, while Chris Jordan finished the innings unbeaten on 14 runs.

For Karachi Kings, Mohammad Nabi was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets, while Khushdil Shah and Mir Hamza each took two wickets.

Earlier, James Vince played a stunning 64-run knock, while Khushdil Shah added fireworks in the final overs to help Karachi Kings post 204-4 against Multan Sultans.

Karachi Kings’ captain David Warner and Tim Seifert provided a quick start after winning the toss, crossing the 50-run mark inside four overs.

Ubaid Shah provided the first breakthrough with the wicket of Seifert, who departed after scoring 22 runs from 11 balls, with the help of three boundaries and one six.

Warner did not last long either, falling prey to David Willey in the next over after smashing a quick 30 off 13, laced with six boundaries, including two sixes.

Ubaid added another wicket to his tally as he dismissed Omair Bin Yousuf (1) in the sixth over with the scoreboard reading 60-3.

After three quick wickets, James Vince and Irfan Khan joined hands to launch a recovery for Karachi Kings with a 78-run stand for the fourth wicket.

Curtis Campher broke the partnership with the wicket of Irfan, who scored 40 runs from 30 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes.

Khushdil Shah joined an already settled Vince at the crease, and together they turned the game on its head in the final five overs.

They smashed 66 runs in 31 balls to take Karachi Kings’ total to 204-4 in their allocated 20 overs.

Vince top-scored with an unbeaten 65 off 45, which included five boundaries and two sixes, while Khushdil smashed a 13-ball 33*, laced with three sixes and two fours.

For Multan Sultans, Ubaid Shah took two wickets, while David Willey and Curtis Campher bagged one each.
